What can I expect during eyelid lift recovery?
After eyelid surgery, it may take 1-2 weeks for bruising and swelling to completely resolve. Most patients are comfortable going back to work right away, often wearing glasses to hide any signs of surgery. The stitches stay in for less than a week but are so fine they are virtually invisible. If bruising does develop, camouflage makeup can be worn. We recommend refraining from aggressive physical activities for at least one week. Pain medicine is not needed for this surgery and often eye drops are prescribed.
