What does the procedure entail?
Light or targeted chemical peels take 30 minutes to apply in our office. After the peel has been applied, it is neutralized with water and then covered with a protective ointment. There may be a slight burning sensation while the peel is doing its job.
What can I expect?
For several days after the peel, you may notice redness or flaking of the skin. New skin will start to appear 7-10 days after the procedure, and more noticeable effects will take place in the months following the procedure. For deeper peels, you may have additional downtime.
Who is a good candidate?
You may be a candidate for this procedure if:
You have roughness in the texture of your skin; you have persistent melasma; you have oily or acne-prone skin, or scars from prior acne; you have sun-damaged skin or age spots; you have fine lines around your mouth or eyes
